Important EPS Award for Immanuel Bloch

NIM member has been awarded the „2011 Prize for Fundamental Aspects of Quantum Electronics and Optics“

Professor Immanuel Bloch, Professor for experimental physics at LMU, director at the Max Planck Institut of Quantum Optics (MPQ) and NIM member, has been awarded the „2011 Prize for Fundamental Aspects of Quantum Electronics and Optics“ by the European Physical Society (EPS). The prize is awarded to Professor Bloch for “pioneering work on exploring quantum many-body systems using ultracold quantum gases for quantum simulation and quantum information applications.”
