Professor Theodor Hänsch, LMU physicist, director of the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics and NIM member, has been awarded the Honorary Doctorate of the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, UK. Professor Hänsch received the Physics Nobel Prize in 2005.
