The research group of Dr. Matthias Schneider (University of Augsburg) has been awarded the Innovation Award for Medical Techniques (Innovationspreis für Medizintechnik) of the german government. Together with the company Advalytix (Olmypus Life and Material Science) and the research group of Prof. S. W. Schneider (University of Münster) the scientists from Augsburg received the price on Thursday, 18th October in Berlin.

Using the funding from the competition the scientists want to develop a lab-on-the-chip for the diagnostics of blood coagulation diseases.

Further collaboration partners are Dr. U. Klinkhardt (Frankfurt) and the company ibidi (Munich).

Out of 92 applicants for the Innovationspreis only four projects have been selected for funding in the category "transfer".
