Gauzy nanowires might be part of the future development of various electronic devices. NIM member Professor Christina Scheu (Physical Chemistry Department, LMU München) and a group of international scientists were able to observe the growth of Sapphire Nanowires on an atomic level. This was possible by working with a high resolution electron microscope.
