ERC Starting Grant for Prof. Bettina Lotsch
NIM member awarded highly endowed grant
A starting grant awarded by the European Research Council (ERC) has gone to Professor Bettina Lotsch (LMU Munich & MPI for Solid State Research). She received the award for her project "Covalent organic frameworks as integrated platforms for photocatalytic water splitting and CO2 reduction".
The award is worth approximately 1.5 million euros over a period of five years. Starting Grants are designed to support cutting-edge research by supporting outstanding researchers who have already shown themselves to be particularly creative.
Bettina Lotsch studied Chemistry at the LMU Munich and finished her PhD studies in December 2006 in the group of Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Schnick (Chair of Inorganic Chemistry - Solid-State and Materials Chemistry). From 2007 until 2008 she worked as a postdoc at the University of Toronto with Prof. G. A. Ozin. Since 2009 Bettina Lotsch has been assistant professor (tenure 2014) at the Chemistry Department, LMU Munich and since 2011 she also holds an independent group leader position at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research, Stuttgart.
