NanoTemper wins the „Deutscher Gründerpreis 2014“

The NIM Spin-Off company NanoTemper Technologies was honored with the „Deutscher Gründerpreis 2014“, an award for german companies with an extraordinary growth rate and the potential to become a market leader.

On September 16, 2014, the company founders Dr. Philipp Baaske and Dr. Stefan Duhr received the prize during a prestigious ceremony in Berlin. The award is offered by the stern magazine, Sparkassen, ZDF and Porsche and supported amongst others by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

The Deutscher Gründerpreis is the most important award for outstanding entrepreneurs in Germany. Since 2002, this award annually honors innovative and successful companies and thus encourages formation of new companies. NanoTemper Technologies received the price in the category "Newcomer" as being a company younger than nine years and already distinguished by an extraordinary growth.

NanoTemper Technologies was founded in 2008 and by now is a globally operating high-tech company that develops, produces and markets solutions for biomolecular analytics. NanoTemper’s proprietary technology allows identifying and developing new drug candidates and enables customers to test the drugs’ potency quickly and effectively.

Dr. Philipp Baaske and Dr. Stefan Duhr managed to transfer the results of their scientific basic research at the LMU in Munich into a successful business. From 2008 to 2010 the company has been supported by the FLÜGGE program. This is short for „Bayerisches Förderprogramm zum leichteren Übergang in eine Gründerexistenz“, a program to facilitate the start-up of new companies and organised by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology.

NanoTemper Technologies offers a unique and innovative technology to scientists in pharmaceutical or biotech industries as well as in an academic research setting. The company’s high precision instruments made in Germany are used by thousands of scientists in more than 30 different countries thus paving the way into the premier league of biotech companies.
